Tackle It Tuesday- Felt food for Christmas presents
Now it is really late but I was so busy “tackling” this felt food project today that this is the first chance I’ve had to really sit down and post.
I gave you all a sneak peek last week on Make it Monday of all the felt food I had made for my son.. I was NOT even CLOSE to done! I’m just about done now though. Just a little loaf of bread and a tomato to go, unless of course you see something I should have included. I’m also considering making a lettuce and salad set if I have enough time but even if I don’t it’s not like I can’t make it later after Christmas is over.
Anyways, I found this cute little blue basket at Goodwill for 99 cents. It was just the right size and looks just like a little shopping basket. Monkey is going to love it!

Here’s Miss Smarty Pants’ sweet shop set that I’ve almost got done now as well. I bought a basket at Michael’s after Halloween for $1.25 and it is fall colors so I’m in the process of painting it pink and totally girl-a-fying it so I can put all of her baking goodies and sweets into it.

I’m SO glad that I’m just about done now. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t get these all done in time for Christmas but thankfully it’s all working out okay. As much as I’ve enjoyed making felt food my fingers need a break from all the hand sewing!
Last year I made my daughter every single hair clip she had been wanting from my hair bow business and a cute hot pink Hello Kitty hair bow holder with black marabou lining the top. I’m finding that it’s the special homemade items that my children have really enjoyed the most and gotten the most use out of. I think I’ll definitely be making at least one hand made item every year from now on. Are you making any of your children’s Christmas presents this year?

Okay – i HAVE to know…were are you getting your patterns for this stuff?! It’s sooo dang cute! Do you just make it up — you are patient! ha ha ha. Santa is bringing my kids a play kitchen and I have wanted to do some felt food to go with it but I’m to afraid to just ‘wing it.’ I am a pattern girl…HELP!
both of those sets are so cute! You did a wonderful job!
You are sooooooo talented!
The cake is amazing!
Merry Christmas by the way!
I hope you had a Merry Christmas! It’s late, I know! I am now catching up!
I didn’t make my two any of their presents. I do want to make Princess T a doll house for Christmas in the future. My father made me a wooden one when I was little and I tell you, that was the best doll house I ever had! It lasted a lot longer than anything else I’ve ever gotten, too!
OH. MY. GOSH.
Those are the most adorable things I have EVER seen!!!!
I can’t believe you made all of that.
I would love to do that for my daughter next year, since I plan on getting her a little kitchen.
How long did it take you????
Have a wonderful weekend.

I love these! I was just telling my MIL the other day that I hate buying play food because it’s so poor quality and usually falls apart or gets chewed up.
But this, now this I could do. Thanks for the great idea!
Miranda! You did a beautiful job! These are totally awesome!!!
