Surgery Update

Submitted by Miranda on January 2, 2009 – 11:37 pm17 Comments

So I just wanted to leave you all a quick update on my surgery. Obviously I’m alive and my surgery was rather uneventful. I am home with my family and thankful to get the heck out of the hospital.. they were evil there! They took away all my dignity with a razor and then made me walk around the hospital floor after all was said and done! The nurses also had the nerve to say that me and my husband look alike. They’re lucky I was on 3 pain medications and too out of it to say something. I mean seriously, what woman wants to be told she looks like her HUSBAND?! So now on top of being a hollow woman I also look like my husband! People need to really think before speaking. Anyways, recovery is going as expected.. I can’t laugh, can’t cry, can’t cough, can’t ANYTHING! But I’m still thrilled to say that I’m alive and kicking and that’s all that really matters at this point. I can’t wait to be able to get up and around again. I’m also REALLY looking forward to picking up my 2 year old again, he doesn’t quite understand it when I have to tell him I can’t but he can sit next to me. Continue to keep my family in your prayers, we feel so blessed!

I was so glad to read that your surgery is over and that you’re home. Praise God! Sorry about those nurses. I guess it’s a lesson for all of us; to watch our words. Take the time you need to heal not only physically but allow God to heal you completely. I’ll be praying for you.

Obviously no one told those nurses, if they have nothing nice to say don’t say it.

I’m so glad you are doing better. I know the feeling of trying to explain to your little ones you can’t pick them up. I was just cleared to be able to pick them up two days ago. The first time I picked up my two year old he gave me a huge hug and a kiss. It was so sweet!!!!

    Hope your recovery is fast!

Hey Miranda glad you are alright!! I was also told I looked like my husband. We were on a train ride to visit my relatives in New Jersey. We basically had the same hair cut and our hair color is similar. People on the train thought we were brother & sister. LOL
