My son turned 3 today and I can’t help but remember my pregnancy with him… the terrifying days I spent on bed rest, the Lovenox (blood thinner) injections, the countless ultrasounds and doctors appointments. I look back on the day I had him with relief more than anything. I risked bleeding out and risked being paralyzed by requesting an epidural because I still had blood thinners in my system. The birth itself went amazing but as soon as he was placed on my chest for that amazing moment that every mother remembers with each of her children he was whisked away by the entire floor of nurses and pediatricians because they couldn’t get him to breathe. But he made it through… and I made it through …and I praise God for that every day.
Ethan has gone from a tiny 5 lbs. 1 oz. baby…
…to a sweet, crazy, wall-climbing, happy little 3 year old boy and we all love him to pieces!
Time goes by WAY too fast! He’s my little miracle and my favorite little boy in the whole wide world. He owns my heart and I think he knows it because he often uses it to his advantage. I wish I could just freeze these sweet little moments in time.

My son is only 6 month old right now, but I too had to take blood thinners during my pregnancy. I was on Heparin and had to shoot my tummy up twice a day…But, as you know, it is all worth it once that baby is looking back at you! It’s hard to believe that in a blink of an eye my baby will be as big as yours! Congrats!
