Happy Birthday to My Baby Girl!
Nine years ago on this very day at 6:24 AM I was holding my beautiful blonde-haired blue-eyed daughter for the first time after 14 and a half hours of labor, an epidural (the best thing ever invented), and a couple words I wish to never repeat that popped out of my mouth during that last 5 minutes of the birth experience. It was an uneventful birth really, my daughter was healthy and that was all that mattered to us.
She’s been such a blessing to all of us from the moment she was born. She was always a happy baby and was easy to please, and it was very few and far between that she didn’t have a smile ready for whoever was near her. She’s still very much the same way… maybe a little harder to please and with a bit more attitude but I still see my happy baby when I look at her. Here’s a couple of my favorite pictures from over the years.

Sometime between this scanned in picture and the next photo is when I got my first digital camera so everything in between this is in my scrapbook or still waiting to be scrapbooked. Yes, STILL! One day I’ll have to scan in her dress up pictures, those were some funny times!

The past nine years have been an adventure. It’s hard to believe that this is the last single digit birthday we’ll be celebrating with our daughter and we’re that much closer to the pre-teens, way more than we’re comfortable with. It’s scary to think that in another nine years this little girl that still puts stickers on her light switches (after repeatedly being asked not to) and makes me cut the crust off her sandwiches is going to be heading to college. I hope that God gives us more patience, understanding, and more of just the right words to say throughout these next nine years.

Happy Birthday to my pretty, pretty princess!
