Feeding Your Kids Healthier Food When You’re On The Go *WIN A GIFT BASKET*
These past few weeks things have been hectic for us as many of you already know. We’re constantly running from one appointment to the next and on days when we’re not scheduled for appointments I have lots of work to catch up on. When we’re running back and forth between the audiologist, speech, different doctors, and his new school for the enrollment process, it gets extremely chaotic and it’s often hard to put together healthy snacks and lunches for him. I recently had the chance to review some of the Eating Right kids products from Safeway, this is certainly a great way to feed your kids when you’re constantly on the go like I am. We were able to try out the fruit cups, the chewy snack bars, the apple juice, and Whole Wheat Cheese Ravioli. My son really enjoyed his meal and I loved that it didn’t take long to get set up for him. His favorite part was the bottle of apple juice from Eating Right and the snack bar, naturally. I wasn’t able to get a bite of the snack bar because he scarfed it down too fast but I took that as a really good sign. I was able to sneak in a few bites of his Whole Wheat Cheese Ravioli in Sauce though and in comparison to other ready to eat pastas I thought it was okay, not quite as good as some of the other canned raviolis but I was happier with it because it was made with my child’s health in mind… and sometimes you have to be sneaky when trying to get that whole wheat into your child’s diet and that can often be hard to do. My son seemed to like the ravioli and since it comes in a microwaveable container it was easy to heat up and serve, however he took a couple bites and he was done. Would I buy the Looney Toons Eating Right line again? Yes, but I’d be more inclined to buy the juices and chewy snack bars since they make for a great snack and my son LOVED them. They’re both perfect for when we’re on the go and I can easily fit them into my tote bag so they’re there when my son wants them. I’m not sure if I would buy the ravioli again but we could just possibly have some very spoiled taste buds. I would love to find a Safeway that’s close by so I can try out their breads, the pudding cups, and waffles and pancakes. They seem to have a lot of variety and plenty for your little ones to choose from.

Igive my kids a small bit of ranch dressing to dip veggies in or a small amount of yougurt to dip fruit in. As long as they can dip, they are happy to take healthy things in their lunches.

I don’t have to sneak things into my kids meals. If I eat it they want it LOL. All I have to do is lead by example. If I put a cut up honeycrisp apple on the table they are all over it.
my little one loves broccoli so i make sure she gets plenty of it.
I slighty freeze juice like orange juice until it’s slushy!
They have fun eating it instead of drinking it.
Great for me when on a diet too!

I add healthy foods to foods they like. I only add a little to encourage them to try mew foods.
A tip I have for a healthy and easy-to-make snack is to put wheat germ on yogurt.
