Kids Can Now Explore The Science Behind Beauty Products
My daughter loves science and figuring out how things work so when Team Mom offered us the chance to review the Magnificent Manicure Kit my daughter kinda flipped her lid with excitement. I’m not exaggerating. She chuckled the whole time I was pulling all of the contents out of the box like it was Christmas morning after it arrived.. I’m guessing as far as kids go that this is the sign of a super cool gift and she was extremely pleased.
Our kitchen table became our “salon” as we dived right into all of the activities and began to learn about cosmetic chemistry through the Magnificent Manicure Kit with this unique hands-on experience. My daughter began following the directions for creating her own crystal mud and after sat back and relaxed as she soaked her hands in her self-created hand soak. I had a bit of a laugh when she leaned back against her chair and said, “They’re right! This is SOOOOOOOO soothing! So, soothing!” While creating her hand soak we had a lot of fun together and it really was a learning experience. All along the way through the activity instructions were questions that accompanied each step that make your child think and afterwards we found the review section to be really educating as well. This was a fun way to teach my daughter about solvents, solutions, what saturated and unsaturated mean and answering more questions that make you think and to top it off we found the Fun Facts to be really interesting and entertaining. We continued onto the other activities and manicure experiences and each one was just as fun as the first.
I found this to be a product that is fun and creates a unique quality time experience with your daughter while learning about cosmetic chemistry. The instructions for each activity are well written out and easy to follow along. I loved that I didn’t have to purchase anything extra, everything we needed was right there in the box. The only dislike I have is that it can be a little messy.. but nothing a towel can’t clean up. Would I buy this kit again or more of the cool kits from Scientific Explorer? Yes! I love the simplicity of the directions, the organization and ease of finding what you need, and what these kits can teach my children. Instead of just giving your kids a gift you also get to give them an entire experience with the Scientific Explorer kits which means you’re creating lasting memories with your kids and that’s a really fun thing to give them.
