I’m 26 now. I hate being 26. People often ask “how does it feel to be another year older?” Well, when I was younger and much cuter I used to say “not much different than yesterday.” But being 26 bites BIG TIME! I’ve noticed that every single birthday after my 21st has become increasingly depressing and I’ve found the urge to lie about my age becomes increasingly tempting as well. When I turn 30 I might crawl under the covers of my bed and never come out… unless of course someone is offering me botox, some plastic surgery, and a big fattening chocolate cake. I might come out for that!
In honor of the horrible new wrinkles I seem to be sporting lately, the funky chin that I just recently noticed, and my uterus-less, achy-jointed body.. I’m celebrating with chocolate cake and a nap and nobody better stand in my way. This old – er lady needs her nap time!
How do I feel? I feel beyond 26.. like I skipped a good 10 years and jumped right to the joys of being older. Happy birthday to me!

So I turned 26 in September and it sucked. I felt like once you’re over 25 you’re stuck in your life, just biding time, ya know. So we went to my in-laws’ house to house sit and have a relaxing time. My daughter picked out this old anatomy for kids book from when my husband (who is 40 days younger than me) was little. We’re reading along and then it said, I kid you not, that the human body hits it’s physical peak at 25–after that things are deteriorating.

I understand, by the way (even though I WISH I was 26 again). My 31st birthday is in two weeks. 3-1. No more saying I “just” turned 30. Nope — definitely IN (well in, now) my thirties, which is not a pleasant thought.
