My Three Year Old Tornado

EthanthinkingIt’s Friday, I LOVE Fridays… usually. Not today though. Today I was expecting a nice relaxing Friday with a little time to clean my house and even do some of the extra deep cleaning I’ve been putting off for awhile (like the shower and the floorboards). But Friday means my three year old doesn’t have school and that means he’s at home ALL DAY LONG. Don’t get me wrong, I love him and I love having him home with me and when he’s gone I get a little sad that my “baby” is at school.. but today he’s been exceptionally naughty. It’s like living with a walking tornado.

In just one day I’ve had toys thrown clear across the living room straight at my head, beds torn apart and dragged down the stairs with blankets now decorating my couches, I’ve been screamed at, cried to, and I’ve even had snot smeared on my shirt. There’s powdered strawberry Nesquick spilled all over my kitchen naturally my son as well, the children’s movies have been built into a tower and then knocked over.. and left there because I was busy cleaning up the nesquick, he’s gone through 5 bites on 5 different apples (oh wait make that 6 now) and then putting them in the trash before I can stop him, and all those toys he just got for Christmas that I had put away nicely in his room? They’re ALL downstairs scattered across the living room and kitchen.

DSC_0334At this rate, I’m getting nothing done. For everything I do get done he comes along behind me and messes 2 more things up. I’m not mad, going crazy maybe, but I’m certainly not mad.. it’s just another crazy day in my home and I love this little guy because in between all the naughty moments are a million great ones where I’m given amazingly sweet hugs and super slobbery kisses and told ” I wub you mommy.” This is motherhood. It’s crazy, it’s hectic, but it’s amazing. However, today I’m thankful it’s almost nap time!

Sounds so familiar! Those are the type of days I just throw in the towel and join in on the madness, play and have a good time.

    The joys of naptime!

  2. Awwwwww, he is just too cute to get in trouble!
