Let’s face it.. sometimes being a mom, a wife, and everybody’s everything is exhausting and we just need a little break. Just a little time to ourselves and sometimes spending time with our girlfriends does us a lot of good as well. It’s important to nourish our friendships and it’s nice to have time with them to just be able to regroup, laugh a little, eat some fattening food together, and forget about our massively long to-do lists. When I was asked to host a giveaway on Keeper of the Cheerios for a Sony Girl’s Night Out.. I thought, ” A girl’s night? I haven’t had a girl’s night out since last July while I was at BlogHer.” Is that not completely sad? I of course immediately checked out the Sony Girl’s Night In website and instantly fell in love with the idea of hosting a Girl’s Night In. On the website you’ll find tips and ideas to make your Girl’s Night In perfect.. with suggested movies (what my husband calls “chick flicks”), music recommendations, food ideas, and everything that needs to be planned out to host a successful “Girl’s Night In.” Now I just need to call up my friends and make my husband take the kids somewhere fun and my own Girls Night Out or In will be all set!
Speaking of girls night out and watching movies, I saw the preview for “Dear John” about a week ago and I’m dying to see it now. “Dear John” stars Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum and it’s based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. It looks like it’s a little sad but super sweet. I was a little excited to find out that right now when you buy specially marked Sony DVD’s you get a free movie ticket to see “Dear John.” For those of you who haven’t seen the previews for it I’m including it here but you can also visit the Dear John website if you want more information.
I told you that movie looked great! I bet you want to see it now too don’t you? Well, I don’t have movie tickets for you but I do have a huge set of DVD’s to give away that will make for many fun Girl’s Nights In for you and your friends.

if I were to host my own Girls Night In Party, I think I’d pick a movie like Fool’s Gold, and then have a tropical theme(well, Miami is tropical compared to frigid NY state right now!) Tropical drinks with umbrellas, tropical fruits like papaya and mango, maybe set up a blanket on the floor so we could pretend we were at the beach. I think I’d put an inflatable mattress under the blanket for our comfort.
