WIN Bright Star On DVD!
I’ve always been fascinated by movies that take you back to a time such as the 19th century. I love the dresses, the hair, the way they talk, the way they lived during those times. It all seems so romantic, beautiful, and somewhat simple. However, I’m extremely thankful that I was born during a time where we’re free to wear blue jeans, epidurals are in abundant supply, we’re free to marry who we want, and quite frankly I have a hard time envisioning a world without internet. Maybe that’s why I love movies like Bright Star so much, they just take you to a different time and it leaves me in awe of how things used to be.
One lucky Keeper of the Cheerios reader will win Bright Star on DVD. One of the best reviewed movies, Bright Star has been included on more than 50 top ten lists. This movie will take you through the beautiful true story of the poet John Keats and his forbidden love with Fanny Brawne. If you love romantic dramas set in a different time (and men who talk to you about love with poetic words), then you’ll love Bright Star.
Bright Star SYNOPSIS
From Academy Award® winning writer/director Jane Campion (Best Original Screenplay, The Piano, 1993) comes an extraordinary film based on the true story of undying love between renowned poet John Keats (Ben Whishaw, The International) and his spirited muse Fanny Brawne (Abbie Cornish, Stop-Loss). In the wilds of 19th century England, a forbidden passion draws the two lovers ever closer—even as fate conspires to tear them apart. Bright Star takes you to a world where, though life may be fleeting, great art – and great love – last forever. Let this sparkling gem of romance illuminate your heart.
Bright Star releases on DVD on January 26, 2010. Be sure to visit the Official Bright Star website to see the movie trailer, read about the cast and the crew, and read about the movie and the characters.

John Keats was one of the most beautiful American writers in history. He had the ability to fling you from reality into his world of words made of roses and thorns. The movie Bright Star allows us to have a small glimpse of the life he led and his love. His letters and poems come to life as we see his emotions that went into them. I am a romantic and movies such as Bright Star allow me to be myself.

I love historical movies, with the different values of that time, the costumes and the scenery. And I always love a love story.
I have not seen the movie but I’ve heard great reviews about it. I love movies set during that time period and I also love romances, so this sounds wonderful. Thanks.
I receive your feed with google reader. Thanks.
i love the wonderful costumes of the era
I did see “Bright Star” in the theaters, and I loved it! Jane Campion’s a terrific filmmaker, and she was able to infuse a period piece with a modern feel and sensibility — and what I loved most about it was that it showed just how sexy words can be (especially when uttered by impossibly attractive leading actors!). Definitely one of the most romantic films of the last few years, and would love the chance to win a copy on DVD to add to our collection. Thanks!

I enjoy the attempts to keep in period with styles and manners and speech. It’s fun to find flaws.
Any movie with a bit of romantic history to it? I’m there.

I love movies like Bright Star. Romantic movies set in past periods of history seem to be more romantic. The stories are great.
I like going back in time.
